While I don't jump on every trend that comes along, I like to use trends to refresh my home without having to re-do everything. I take some time to reflect on my personal style and decide if that trend is for me. For example, I liked the use of tobacco baskets in other people's homes but I decided to wasn't for me. You can use this same editing process when bringing trends into your home. I rounded up a few things I am seeing out there that I think might be fun to add to your spaces.

Wicker/Rattan
I have seen this trend emerge for a few years; think outdoor furniture sets, etc. What I like are the interesting ways "weaves" are being used. One of my favorite are woven drinking glasses. I even purchased some night stands with wicker detail. Baskets and rattan/wicker are a wonderful way to add texture to your spaces. Target carries this scalloped basket, which immediately caught my eye.
Scallops
Scallop detail adds personality to an otherwise boring item. I have always loved it, and its fun to see it used in surprising new ways. I have seen scalloped tile for bathrooms, and love seeing it in apparel as well. You don't have to ask me twice about scallops, always a yes for me!

Trim & Walls
People all over are adding a design punch by painting trim and walls the same color. I have seen this done beautifully, it adds continuity and statement. Previously we were seeing white trims and paint to give the paint a pop of color.
Above I did a reiteration of this concept in our powder room bath, I painted the vanity, the baseboards and the door the same color.

Nod to Neutrals
Remember when 'tan walls' were all the rave? While I wouldn't call them all the rave, there has been a resurgence in using tan paint again, but in updated shades. I especially love Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter, in my opinion is a perfect tan color. On the very flipside, I have seen some lovely shades of purple in apparel this spring, I am not a purple gal in anyway, but I have bought a few tops in it. I would call it more of a periwinkle, its delightful!

Grandma's Florals
Florals have been making an appearance over the years, and it's shifted to florals you'd see at Grandma's house which is nostalgic. I absolutely love using florals in my decor, and I just bought a floral/fruit print today. As with every trend, the prints use a more updated color palette and are a fun way to bring print and pattern into your home.
I think I have used each and every one of these trends in my home in some way. Like I said, I am using some of these in reiterated form to fit my style and update my home. *Confession: the tan may or may not be a left over from when tan was all the rave ;)

Adriana
