Quarentine - Stay #Strong

This quarentine can feel like it's never going to end, who can agree? With that said, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! In some places restaurants are opening at reduced capacity and things are starting to loosen up a bit and feel a little more normal. For our family, and our cirucumstances, the quarantine has actually been a blessing in disguise as we've enjoyed having my husband at home; we are able to go on evening walks, do home projects, and eat dinner together as a family.

I realize it's not this way for all and many are going through difficult times. Either way, it seems there's a bit more time on our hands which can be a good thing, with a little bit of structure.

Adding a little structure to each day has helped us maintain a positive demeanor, though don't get me wrong, we've had our share of tough days. I wanted to share a few things that are helping us survive and even on some days thrive in this time.

1. ROUTINE

We have a routine on the weekdays and roughly plan out our weekends. This has really helped our days feel orderly and helps us not to squander our time. Here are two routines I found online to help if you haven't already found one!

2. GET READY

*Design by Kenzie Interiors

I don't manage to do this everyday, but during the week I try to get ready each day. I give myself a break on Saturday and try to get ready for church online on Sunday. This helps me feel fresh and motivated to do what I need for the day. Here are some favorite items I like to use to get ready each day:

3.GET OUTSIDE

MN is one of the coldest states in the nation, but spring has finally visited us! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to go on walks, sit on a blanket and soak in the sun, or grill. We try to get outside at least 2 times a day for a walk and for leisure or reading.

4. HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD T

This is huge. It can be something small like make popcorn and watch a movie, or something like going to a state park on a hike. Some things we've done lately are:

  • We made our first bonfire

  • We made icecream

  • We made mocktails (we don't drink) for happy hour

  • Dinners on the patio

  • Drives to our favorite small towns

Other fun ideas could be:

  • Getting take out and doing a picnic

  • Social distancing neighborhood movie (our neighborhood does a social distancing gathering at 4pm each day in our culdesac)

  • A driving range outting, or google some nature trails and plan a bike ride

Even though shops and restaurants aren't open, now is the time to expirament with new work outs, fun day trips, new recipes and create fun cuisines in our own home!

5. DECLUTTER

If you have time, go through those closets, garages and even a junk drawer and declutter and donate! Especially if you have extra time on your hands or if you are at home working but like to accomplish a goal. It's on my to-do to organize my closet post baby and organize and declutter our garage. It feels so good once you get rid of things you don't need! The thrift store will have many treasures when this thing is over.

X,

Adriana
