I do love going all out when it comes to Christmas decorating! Over the years I have learned my go to decor items that are simple, festive, and keep it manageable for me to clean up and use even after Christmas. If you're hosting a gathering and need to spruce up, --or you are late to the decor game and are craving some holiday cheer in your home, these might be just the thing for you.

GREENERY
I love adding christmas greenery and garland to just about every area. What I enjoy about greenery is that you can add it to a bowl with ornaments, or drape it and add ribbons; its just so versitile! Adding eucalytpus can make it feel fresh and useable beyond Christmas. Purple Rose Home has beautiful garlands, and I also came away with some pretty realistic looking greenery from Michael's craft store. The sale they had made them worth the snagging!
*I even use faux trees in my table decor
FAUX MINI TREES
These are another favorite of mine because they are small and easy to add to just about anywhere! Target has the most convenient selection, but I also keep my eye out when in shops like Macy's or craft stores. What keeps them interesting is mix of textures or prints. Some can be wooden, others with a fun design and some just plain.

CERAMIC HOUSES
Remember the old Thomas Kincaid snow villages everyone use to have? I am thrilled they did a re-edit with white ceramic houses to display. What I see in stores are mostly white, but Monika Hibbs has these darling darling "manors" that are wonderful for village displays. They are so charming you can use them sparingly. Pottery Barn also has handmade ceramic christmas village houses. Most of the ones in our home are the plain white ceramic houses from Target. I also saw these which also spark christmas joy!
RIBBON
Never under estimate the power of cute ribbon in your decor. I gravitate towards neutrals in my personal decor, and I love the look of black and white striped ribbon. It even looks good after the holidays. My favorite place to get ribbon is craft stores. Tie them ontop of a faux or real tree or on top of a cookie jar handle and it makes things festive!
Whether you're behind in the decor department this Christmas, or you're preparing for next year, these ideas are timeless!
If you are hosting people for the holiday or making brunch, here is a panekoken recipe I tried that was delicious. I added fruit and syrup to it, and it was very tasty. I also have free ideas for teacher/hosting gifts. Starbucks is having a great sale on all of their water tumblers and coffee mugs!
